Our school has been serving the community of Larne since 1957. Our vision is to provide an effective and caring learning community for all our students. We are committed to providing the most appropriate education for each of our pupils.
The High School is a school of family and community. Many of our present pupils are sons and daughters and sometimes grandsons and granddaughters of former pupils. Our past pupils are to be found in almost every walk of life in the town. We pride ourselves that most have positive memories of their time with us.
A school is only as good as the pupils and staff in it. We hope that if you decide that your child should undertake his or her secondary education with us, you will support us in doing our best for your child and for all our young people. We are convinced that active parental support and good home-school links are vital for progress and development. For this reason a copy of the School Charter is enclosed and we urge you to consider its contents carefully.
We believe that 'education' is much wider than academic progress. While convinced of the importance of achievement in examinations, we also regard the development of the pupil as a whole person as vital.
This is a crucial time for you and your child. There are choices to make which will, in many ways, determine the future. We hope that you will consider carefully before making your choice of school to ensure that your child's needs will be best met. We are confident that LarneHigh School can do this and can assure you that if your child is enrolled here, we will do our best to make sure that his or her and your experience of the school is a positive one, where your views are carefully considered and your child's interest is central .
