One School. Four Houses. One Community.
Our House system is an important part of life at Larne High School. It gives every pupil a sense of belonging, identity and pride, while creating opportunities to build friendships and connections beyond their usual class or year group. Throughout the year, our Houses come together through a range of competitions, challenges and school events. These activities encourage pupils to work together, support one another and celebrate each other’s achievements — whether they are competing, participating or cheering their House on.
More importantly, the House system helps create a strong sense of collegiality across our school community. Older pupils can support younger pupils, friendships can develop across year groups, and everyone has a team around them. For pupils, knowing that they belong to a House provides another layer of support, connection and security, helping school feel like a place where they are known, valued and part of something bigger.
Our four Houses — Endeavour, Discovery, Steadfast and Valour — represent qualities that we want every pupil to develop throughout their time at Larne High School.
Valour
Virtue of courage, bravery, and strength of character in the face of challenges.
Endeavour
Striving, perseverance, and giving your best to achieve meaningful goals.
Discovery
Curiosity, learning, and understanding through exploration and experience.
Steadfast
Unwavering, resilience and determination in uncertain situations, leading change.
