Every Voice Matters

Our School Council is at the heart of pupil voice in our school.

We believe that every pupil has a voice, every opinion matters and every pupil should have the opportunity to help shape the school they are part of.

The School Council meets every week, bringing together pupil representatives to discuss the issues that matter to our pupils, share ideas and work together to make a positive difference.

Making a Difference

Our School Council isn’t just about talking — it’s about taking action.

Over the last few years, our School Council has achieved a great deal, helping to bring forward pupil ideas, influence school initiatives and make improvements across school life.

Council members regularly communicate with our Senior Leadership Team, providing updates on pupil priorities and presenting new ideas and initiatives.

They also have opportunities to meet with our Board of Governors and engage with wider education authorities, ensuring that the voices and experiences of our pupils are heard beyond the school gates.

Our pupils have even had the opportunity to engage with the Education Minister, demonstrating the importance we place on giving young people a voice in decisions that affect them.

Developing Young Leaders

Being part of the School Council gives pupils the opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills.

Our council members learn how to:

  • Listen to and represent the views of others
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully
  • Discuss issues and find solutions
  • Present ideas with confidence
  • Communicate with school leaders and decision-makers
  • Take responsibility and lead positive change

Most importantly, they learn that their voice can make a difference.

Your Voice. Your School.

The School Council helps ensure that our pupils aren’t simply members of our school community — they are active partners in making it better.

From small ideas that improve everyday school life to initiatives that create change across our wider community, our pupils have shown that when young people are given the opportunity to speak, listen and lead, great things can happen.

Every voice matters.
Every idea has value.
Every pupil can make a difference.
